Professor David Bellamy has named Tree Tops Caravan Park near Prestatyn as one of the UK’s most environmentally friendly holiday parks - and awarded it a special accolade for protecting and enhancing the natural world. For the sixth year running the park has been awarded a Bellamy Gold Award for its commitment to environmentally sound practices.
Set in 14 acres of landscaped woodland countryside, Tree Tops Caravan Park is a five star family run caravan park with 154 pitches.
The park was created in the 1960s and has been owned and operated by the same family ever since. Over the last 48 years thousands of trees and plants have been planted to create a haven for all kinds of wildlife. A combination of managed planting and deliberately wild areas provide a haven for birds and insects, in particular the butterflies continue to grow in quantity and diversity. This year the Tree Tops expanded their wild areas to further encourage butterflies and bird life. They have also planted an area with wild flowers which has been a great success.
